Jackson Taylor is the author of the novel The Blue Orchard, which Publsiher's Weekly has called an American classic. He founded and is a professor the newly launched Writer's Foundry MFA Program at St. Joseph's College in Brooklyn; he also directs the Prison Writing Program at the writer's organization P.E.N., where he co-edited and co-wrote the program’s Handbook for Writers in Prison. He has advised the Anne Frank Center’s Prison Diary Project, has taught creative writing at the Holy Apostles Soup Kitchen in lower Manhattan, and in 1996 was one of the founders of the MFA program at The New School. His poems have recently appeared in Hot Street, Still Against War, & What's Your Exit, a literary detour through New Jersey.
